Blue Lotus Cocktail Syrup

Blue lotus in cocktails? Why not! This sweet cocktail addition is an impressive looking ingredient for any party or date night and is simple (syrup) to make! Aside from the lotus making this recipe special, it also contains dok anchan, which gives this drink a beautiful purple tone.

Combine the following ingredients in a saucepan over low heat.

2 cups water

1/3 cup blue lotus

2 tbsp dok anchan

1 cup sugar

1/8 tsp salt

Keep at a low simmer until your mixture has infused and reached a very dark purple colour. Strain and store in an airtight jar in the fridge. Once cooled you can enjoy this added to cocktails (we suggest a simple drink with lotus syrup, soda water, gin or vodka, and a splash of lemon to impress your guests), or over soda water for a non-alcoholic drink option.
