Lavender-Infused Sugar Tutorial
Lavender-infused sugar is a simple way to add the flavour and scent of lavender to your daily routine. Made by combining dried lavender with granulated sugar, you can store this flavourful sugar long-term. We suggest making a big batch to keep on-hand and add to baking, beverages, and confections.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar (organic cane sugar works especially well)
- 2 tablespoons dried organic lavender flowers
Tools:
- Clean, dry glass jar with a tight-fitting lid
- Fine mesh strainer or sieve
Instructions:
- Add the sugar and lavender flowers to the glass jar. Seal tightly and gently shake to evenly distribute the flowers throughout the sugar.
- Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 3-4 weeks. Shake the jar every few days to help release the lavender’s aromatic compounds into the sugar.
- Using a the fine mesh strainer or sieve, strain out the lavender and discard it.
- Keep the finished lavender sugar in an airtight container. Properly stored, it will retain its fragrance for a long time.

- Sweeten tea, lemonade, or coffee
